Since Android 8, install permission belongs to the app that opens the APK — not the one that downloaded it. Downloaded in Chrome but opened through Files? Then it’s the Files permission that matters.

On Android 7.1 and older there is one global Unknown Sources switch under Security instead — prefer a one-time allowance when Android offers it.

Blocks installs from unauthorised sources. Check it under Settings → Security and privacy → Auto Blocker (names vary by model). It arrived with One UI 6 and is on by default on devices shipping One UI 6.1.1.

Android Advanced Protection blocks unknown-app installs entirely and prevents turning off Play Protect. On a work or managed profile, only your administrator’s approved route will work — that’s a device-access decision, not a bug.

Store verification deadlines are a separate system from scanners and Samsung’s blocker, and the first rollout excludes direct sideloading — it does not amount to a universal block on website downloads in the Philippines.

“App not installed” is one message with many possible causes — and changing install permissions fixes only one of them. Match your symptom first:

A different route entirely: the official game runs through Google Play Games on PC, while a modified build needs an Android emulator with its own ARM64 compatibility checks.

No — keep Google Play Protect enabled. A scan recommendation and a harmful-app warning need different responses, and you should stop at a harmful result. Disabling scanning repairs nothing: not a damaged download, not a wrong architecture, not an update conflict.

Not guaranteed. Removing the game deletes its local app data, and cloud restore depends on your account access and the receiving build. Screenshots can’t restore a save, so keep the installed game whenever local progress has no separate backup.

An older archived build that includes 32-bit ARM (armeabi-v7a) libraries and a minimum Android version your phone meets. The v8.3 build is 64-bit only, so a phone limited to 32-bit apps cannot install it at all — check the Old Versions archive for each build’s details.

That’s a launch failure, a different stage from an installation rejection. Note your device model and Android version, confirm the title screen never appears, and treat it separately — reinstalling over it rarely answers why it closed.
